Chris Smith

Editor + Founder

Chris brings a passion for storytelling that connects with audiences. Both outside and inside the edit bay, he's an adventurer at heart—carving lines on the mountain, catching waves, or chasing that perfect cut. As an editor, Chris has shaped some of TV's most beloved and high-energy shows, including America’s Got Talent (NBC), American Idol (ABC), MasterChef (FOX), The Masked Singer (FOX), The Biggest Loser (NBC), People’s Choice Awards (CBS), Barely Famous (VH1), X-Games (ESPN), and Viva La Bam (MTV). Living in Playa Vista gives Chris a creative jumpstart—a morning surf fuels the inspiration he brings to his editing work. When he's not editing or surfing, he’s cheering on his teams, convinced his mismatched-socks ritual played a part in the Dodgers’ World Series win.

Advertising + Cinematic Visuals + Digital Marketing + Hollywood Storytelling

Joining forces with Rhett Dunlap (Producer) are seasoned pros Jim Dubensky (Director), Bryant Swanstrom (Director of Photography), and Chris “Smitty” Smith (Editor). After over twenty years of working on $100 million movie and TV productions as well as working with some of the biggest brands in the world in the advertising space, we have developed a proprietary brand storytelling system supported by A.I.—the Impact Story Method.

We are also happy to present a new retainer business model crafted to meet clients where they are and affordably get them to where they want to be. We now handle distribution and posting of social content. We work closely with clients to iterate based on strategic analysis of the metrics.

After recent experiences with family members going through the healthcare system, we would like to do our part to help providers better serve patients and therefore have put in place a mandate to serve clients in healthcare.

We also have an in-house spokesperson (Jim) who can perfectly convey your company’s brand identity and your patients’ stories to those who will want to rush to you.

We have a mission.

Our mission is to create compelling, high-quality content that deeply resonates with audiences.

We strive to fortify connections between our clients and the customers they serve. Drawing from our extensive experience in advertising, documentaries, reality TV, and scripted television, we offer a unique method that blends learnings from diverse genres into impactful narratives.

We take pride in merging top-tier production values with a profound understanding of real-world client needs, experiences, and budgets. By focusing on meaningful connections and exceptional content, we aim to inspire and captivate audiences globally. We don’t just create content—we build bridges between our clients and their audiences, ensuring that every story leaves a lasting impression.

Finally, as dads dedicated to making a better world for our children, we are committed to ensuring that every piece of work we produce matters.

Our promise to our clients.

We will always:

* Craft content that is meant to be both viral and enduring
* Provide an extraordinary “movie-making” experience for clients
* Gravitate toward collaborators committed to doing good
* Assemble diverse and highly talented teams
* Be socially and environmentally responsible
* Express excellence-at-all-times
* Give outstanding client service
* Show up with passion
* Work the problem
* Play to win

Our roots.

In the 80s and 90s, Rhett’s father, R. Terren Dunlap, took two companies public.

The first company, Go-Video, started in video production. The founders—Terren and Richard Lang—rigged a Toyota Mini-Van with editing equipment and packed it with camera equipment. They produced everything from weddings to TV commercials. Eventually, the company pivoted into consumer electronics. They developed the world's first and only Dual-Deck VCR for the copying of VHS video tapes. Based on this IP, the company raised millions of dollars in funding through private and public offerings, brought the only US-owned VCR technology to market, and filed a billion dollar anti-trust lawsuit against both Asian manufactures like Sony and Panasonic and the Hollywood movie studios like Fox and Universal who were working to prevent the VCR-2 from going to market.

SeaGlass continues this legacy of content creation and entrepreneurship.
